Working as a Physician Assistant in the U.S. --- Working in Europe?

  • I am on track to getting accepted into a Physician Assistant program in the U.S. I am obtaining a degree in Exercise Science I'm wondering if there are any PA's (Or anyone ...show more

  • Answer:

YOu could contact AAPA, but as far as I am aware the only european countries that have anything called a PA is the UK, and they are only 1 program, with a handful of grads. Medical degrees do not translate from country to country, and almost all countries require you to fulfill their requirements. I would guess, that you would not find any employment as a PA in Europe, and would have to go back through schooling to work in the health care field. Even MDs often have to repeat part of their education/training.
