They should have made it clear to you at the beginning of your college career that there is no "wiping the slate clean" with college grades. The only proper way to stop going to class is to officially withdrawal from the class. If you received failing grades, then you are probably stuck with it. Going back to community college will still not rid those grades from your transcripts. It will simply prove to Universities that you are able to perform well scholastically. It will give them something to judge you by, however, and it might get your foot in the door long enough to explain what happened. Telling a University that you simply stopped going to class is not a good selling point for yourself, however. They have a limited number of students that they can accept per year and they are not able to accept everyone. Therefor, they want to be sure they are choosing students that are going to complete their curriculum. The best advice I could give you, is to go to the University that you dropped out of and ask if there is any way to get the grades changed to a "W". For what it is worth, you go to the admissions department of the school you want to transfer to and explain your situation and hope that they can give some advice.

Ok no sugar coating. I was in the EXACT same situation when I was younger. I stopped going to my classes for one semester and my GPA was a 1.5, which is terrible. I went to the counsler and she told me to I could go to a diffrent community college and then transfer to a four year without ever showing my bad grades. The next year I found out that wasn't true and the school can search for all the school you have attended from your SS # and if they find out you didnt send all of ur transcripts the school will kick you out. So i went back to the original community college and finally have my GPA up to a 2.7 and have my associates but I had to bust my *** and get all As and Bs to get my GPA up. So honestly you might have to go to a community college for a while unless you want to take ur chances with not submitting ur college grades. Hope this helps
