Funny ideas for fishing lures?

Do you know any ideas for fishing lures?

  • I have already made lures out of bottle caps (Metal beer caps), rope, and the end of a broomstick.

  • Answer:

Get a fly tying vice and tools, and you can make all sorts of jigs from feathers, deer hair and just about any material you can imagine. Go to a fly tying shop and you'll find so many materials you won't know what to do. It's a lot of fun!

Try making coin lures. I made a simple penny lure and nailed rainbow trout on it. Drill top and bottom, attach snap rings and hook and a swivel and yer ready to go.

Sounds like a cool hobby, you can make a weedless plug out of a wine cork by weighting the bottom with some golfers tape, and putting the hook on top. If you can find some white golfers tape or paint it white on the bottom, it will look like a frog and might work pretty well on bass. This is really cool what you are doing, because you may never know when you stumble upon the next great lure.

cigar tubes can make some awesome rattling plugs . stuff you'll need: cigar tubs(obviously) corks (just small enough to fit inside) eye screws treble hooks bb's gorilla glue wooden dowel(preferably hard wood) tools: Dremel or other rotary tool(or a drill) dremel round or half round stone bit coping saw unsharpened pencil remove and discard cap to cigar tube. with pencil force one piece of cork to the bottom of cigar tube. place 10-15 bb's in tube, then force second cork in tube leaving room for bb's to move freely and about 1/2 to 3/4 inch in front of the cork. apply gorilla glue to a piece of wooden dowel and pus down to the cork.(allow to dr about 20 mins. with coping saw cut wooden DWL at a 30 deg re angle (apx) use dremil to shape a cup in the face you have cut SRE eye screws into tube being sure to go into cork (glue screws for stronger hold) attach hooks with split rings place an eye screw into center of cup tou made in the face. if you do fly tying attach some hackle and crystal flash to hooks for extra effect

I made a small one that happens to work with both salt and fresh water fish. Take a coak can and drink it then cut it strait down from the top and the cut two tear drop shaped pieces out of the tin you can judge how big you want them compared to how big your fish are around you but they will need to be longer depending on how much weight you want to use so cut carefuly.then take something skinny and strong and make a hole in the point of the pieces of tin. then take a pair of pliers and bend the tin just above the holes but don't bend it a lot just a little then thine the tin if you have clear water or if tou have murky water try and take a little of the shine off then make sure theres no sharp edges were you made the small holes then thread the line threw with the parts you bent angling outward so it looks like a fan blade then pull about 1 foot of line threw the blades so u have line to work with. Now tie a knot midway in the line you pulled threw the blades and let the blades go down to the knot then tie a knot about half an inch above the blades so the blades are stuck between the two knots but still have room to move. Before you go on you can make it a lewer for under water by reading 1. and top water by reading 2. 1. Ok now all you have to do is pick the amount of weight u want and clamp them or tie them as close to the knot as you can but more weight means you will need bigger blades so they can get close to the bait. once your weight is on just put a hook on as close to the weight as posable and then cut about half a foot of line above the blades and put a swivel on it. 2. Ok now put the hook on as close to the knot as posable without touching it and cut the line about half a foot above the blades and add a swivel. with this simple lewerr you can fish any water any time of year with diffrent amounts of weight and color if you use diffrent color cans you can change lewers and go from clear water to the merkiest water you can find. If you cant quite get this email me at [email protected] and ill send you afew pics to help you get it right or fix a mistake you made so

Get a table spoon, somehow drill a hole in one end of it, attach some split rings, and a set of treble hooks. In freshwater, you'd catch some nice pike, bass, and even crappie on these. Here's a picture of something like I'm talking about - http://i.ehow.com/images/GlobalPhoto/Articles/4786214/fish-main_Full.jpg

Backwater Charlie

I would drag a car with a heavy duty chain and power windows through the water like trolling and when the fish swim into the car through the windows I would role them up electronically and walla you have just caught your limit.

Red Devil

Plastic hoochies (like small squids) Dyed feathers (like buctails) Pipe Cleaners (like flies) Red faceted beads (like salmon eggs) Plastic streamers (like worms) Small shiny chain (attractor)
