I installed the printer but the icon doesnt show up?

Answer:

check if ur comp is on a selective startup Or normal and see if the Print spooler is started & Automatic in services.msc if its not then try to make it Automatic by clicking on Enter on the Print spooler then check the printer window u will find d printer icon & add few more Details to the questions > which os who's the manufacture of the printers etc

That`s a lot of info! If you go into control panel - printers, that`s in xp, (you don`t mention what os you have) click on the icon, does the printer show in there? EDIT. When you ask a question it`s best to mention which operating system ( xp, vista , windows 7) Also make and model of your pc/laptop. This makes it a lot easier for someone to try and and help you.
