What openings do nurses have?

Why dont female nurses wear a nurses dress anymore? And why dont nurses wear hats either?

    I wore trousers and tunic for a while but reverted back to dresses with my belt and buckle. Many nurses seem to be wearing this again now. We also had hospital and state badges which sadly don't exist anymore upon qualifying and these were worn with pride. I love meeting nurses who wear their badges as I know they trained in the same era and were 'old school' as we were known as 'Royalies' after the name of the The Royal hospital we trained at. Hats were scrapped years ago as they were believed to be a source of infection and they were a pain tbh. unless they were stitched to your head !!

The two hospitals I work in give you the choice of dresses or tunic & trousers. Pretty much everyone chooses tunic & trousers because they're more practical.

Mimkat hate the new Yahoo Answers so has retired.

they just wear scrubs becuase they can be washed easier...they have to have clean ones everyday, a dress would be a right pain. I agree it looks a lot smarter but its not practical

in the old days , a nurses hat was often clipped on to their hair so it wouldn't fall off. the fact is , many woman have become less Feminine and tend to dress more like a guy than a woman these days but as far as a nurses type of clothing . it is more likely promoted by the medical industry than any individuals choice . these scrubs they wear are often provided for them and they often take them home so they don't have to change at work which is bad because it brings in the possibility of staff infection. nurses weather a man or a woman can bring from home germs from their cats butt after it climbs on them or from their dog licking their hand before they leave for work. this has been pr oven ... furthermore , a nurses dress length was past the knees so no chance of seeing anything. ultimately , a woman looks much better in a dress than these scrubs any day and it would be great to see
