Answer:
I am not familiar with this cell centre, however, I have worked in call centres. An assessment most likely will involve putting on headphones and listening to "callers" and having to type their names, addresses, account numbers, etc into different fields and then making snap decisions on which screen to progress to next, based on the information the caller is giving you. What this shows the company is how fast your keyboard skills are (most call centres only requires roughly 35 wpm), your listening skills, grammar skills and ability to think quickly. Usually you will be given a multiple choice test where you decide what words are misspelled in a set of sentences. These tests are really very easy, provided you focus entirely on the test and remain calm. If you are in a room with many people, you need to block everyone out and focus! I hate group interviews. Most likely, they will go around the room and have each person share about 1-2 minutes about themselves, so think now what you will say. It could be something like "My name is Johnny Q, I am from Sheffield, my previous positions have been in retail, but I think I will do well here because I have excellent customer service and communication skills". Sometimes, they will ask you to tell something unusual about yourself and/or hobbies. Be upbeat when speaking and smile. Next, you will probably hear all about the job and if the interviewer is any good, he/she will ask questions and then direct them to a specific person. I have been in group interviews where questions were just thrown out and everyone talked over each other. Hopefully, that won't happen. Be mindful when you are speaking that you speak clearly and with proper grammar because the interviewer(s) is paying attention to stuff like that. Good luck! Oh, and find their website and read up on the company. Often, the interviewer will ask if anyone knows what the company is about. Show you did your research because that clues the interviewer that you are efficient and interested in the position.
