How can I turn my dual sub box into a single sub box?

I had an idea to turn my box spring of my bed into a sub box. is it possible? and how would i do it?

  • Answer:

certainly you can put a sub in your bed. By box spring, I would assume that you're talking about the bed frame, rather than the mattress. The only issue is that it can get quite damp in there, peoples' sweat accumulates over time in such places, so I wouldn't use a cardboard speaker. To be honest, I'd just get a small car subwoofer, and hide it somewhere in there rather than doing carpentry work and designing box geometry. Since cars are restricted spaces you can get them in fairly compact packages, easy to hide under a bed. Rather than using a car amplifier, power it with a hi-fi or small PA monoblock amplifier, 100-200W is plenty, and use a low-pass crossover before the amplifier. Sorted.
