How should I prepare for a computer science career?

• matter when it comes to the job world. How well does going through a computer science major prepare you for a career in the field? How much do employers care about a degree?

  I'm not an expert in the Computer Science Field but I can say as someone who had to use various Computer Call Service - I'm not all that impressed. I think young people who have been exposed to the computer and technology at such an early age have a "leg up". It always seems to me the people who are successful in that field never needed to go to school for it. Sort of like being a great chef, they learn to cook young - you don't really need to go to culinary school - but at the same time so many people who go to culinary school never became "superstars". Unless you want to go into programming or work for a Microsoft or software company - don't waste your time. If you absolutely love computers and the technology then school will be easy and work won't seem like work. If you don't "love it" - don't go to school for it - find something you love and the money will come.
