  Portal is made by the same people as steam, you can buy portal in a shop or off steam it self with your credit card or paypal. Steam basicly works the same way as the itunes store does, except you buy games not music and you cant connect your istuff. You just buy and then download. Its run buy valve so you have to sign up for a steam account which is free. You can redeem any game you brought in a store and then download it on to any computer you have, or use the disks. Steam also lets you update any game you have through steam easily.
