I agree with T E, right now any type of job at a law firm is being taken by those who have graduated law school, passed the bar exam, and cannot find a job. According to government records the unemployment rate for attorneys now is around 26% to 29%. So there are many, many applicants (who already have a law license) going after any position in a law firm. Internships are usually handled through the law school. In most states the internship is a non-pay job and needs a special law license. Those are usually available to a law student in his/her final year. But, again due to economy, even these types of positions are being applied for by the alumni of the law school who just want experience. A paralegal in most states is a position filled by a person who has taken his/her paralegal studies and has a certificate or degree in that area. At most you may be able to go into a law firm as a clerk (think file clerk), runner (the person who takes papers to the courthouse), or other administrative job. If you can find that.
