  Oh, man...wish someone would answer this one for me, too. I have a BS in Biology that is 8 years old. I worked as a pharmaceutical rep for a few years but now that I've been laid off, I have found nothing that I'm qualified for! Or...I'm over qualified. If you are interested in Nursing or anything in the medical field, you better do it now if you have a recent degree. I wanted to go back to nursing school, but three different schools have said that my degree is "old" - all prerequisite biology, chemistry, microbiology, anatomy, physiology classes must have been taken within the last five years before entrance to nursing school. Can you imagine what a blow that was? I could TEACH anatomy and physiology at this point!! Here's the problem I face: although I have a degree in Biology, I don't have any certifications that are needed for jobs in the medical field. Certifications require a certain amount of clinical education/training specific to that field. Meaning more school! I recently applied for an entry level laboratory science position that provided on-the-job training for certification. I was told that I was overqualified and they gave it to a girl with an associates in Medical Assisting. UGH!!! I would like to see some answers myself! Good luck!
