Do you need a CPR certification to get into EMT? Can I get into an EMT without a CPR certification?
-
I don't have a CPR certification and was wondering if I need that first to get into an EMT class at a local community college.
-
Answer:
EMT curriculum will cover CPR but you WILL need a CPR card from the Red Cross or AHA. Most community college EMT programs give you a grace period of a few weeks to get CPR certified after enrolling in the class.
