By knowing their mission and vision you will know their business and their long term objectives and you can tell them how you can help them achieve these short and long term goals. Knowing their values would help you cite examples in your past experiences (job or scholastic) which exudes their values and they will form the perception that yu are the person they need. This is a far as the content is concerned. First thing's first...dressing for success would catch their attention.
