How's the best way to treat a cigarette burn?

What is the best way to treat a cigarette burn on my hand?

  • It is pretty deep. It was an accident and it is on my right hand..its been there for a week and still really no healing. I want to get rid of it asap. help please

  • Answer:

Neosporin and a bandaid. It will actually heal faster if you keep the antibiotic ointment on it and covered. Used to be thought that you needed to keep it dry and uncovered. Not true.

1. You really should quit smoking for your health (but I'm sure you already know that; 2. Keep the burn clean; 3. Put Vitamin E oil on it and keep it covered for a day or two until it starts to heal; and 4. Let the air get at it once it starts to heal. By using the Vitamin E oil, the scarring will be minimal.

Ouch! Are you putting Bacitracin or Neosporin on it? Are you keeping it covered? May be you should go see a Doctor. Good luck.

you need to use a cream that is specifically for burns. keep it covered so it doesn't get infected. Do not put lotion, Vaseline or anything like that on it... it will trap in the "heat" and make it worse...
