Why MVC is not suitable for Windows application?

What is the best way to learn about Windows Azure?

  • I am planning for creating a web application using ASP.NET MVC Framework and hosting in Windows Azure. The for hosting in Azure is I like to get some experience in it. I am ready to invest the needed time and learn. Also I have a little theoretical knowledge about cloud computing.   Kindly help me!!!

I would suggest firstly go through the http://azure.com and understand all of the services provided by Azure. There are a lot of options to host you asp. net MVC website now on Azure depending on how hands-on you want to be with the machine. Understand PaaS vs IaaS. Understand the different approach to programming for cloud (like not using session or any machine affinity like disk storage etc).   Just hosting your site on Azure shouldn't be too difficult - I suggest you get yourself a free account and just get your hands dirty. Visual studio has very good support for deploying your site to Azure. Once you are successful doing that and have some basic understanding move to topics like storage, worker roles etc. Good luck!

I would recommend  checking out the expert led courses available at Microsoft Virtual Academy. The site is free and the trainings/tutorials are, in my opinion, really well done.
