2-3% is generally what a successful return would be, but you have to effectively target your market and carefully select your mailing list, too. For your business, I'd do a combo of a mailing and drop offs to food wholesalers (like Sysco)-- if a few drivers or sales reps have your card when someone asks about catering (as long as they don't do it, too!), then they might pass out your card as a referral card.
