Why is loyalty important?

How do I convince an organisation that "Loyalty Programme" is an important tool that will increase revenue

  well it is a must have if there are any competitors to that company; for example; i work as a marketing manager for a mall; and i had a hard time convincing my management that we need to have loyalty cards; and because we were the only mall in the area; they didn't really approve on that; but now; as we have a competitor coming; they asked me to work on this again; which is somehow wrong;as our customers will notice that when they can choose between us or other places we gave them the attention needed; so loyalty programs are an important thing to have for each company from the beginning; customers usually they tend to be more loyal and will be willing to spend more money for your company more than the other; now the kind of program differs from one company to another and from a product to another; and the rewards depends on the price of the product; so what you have to do; is to find a case for something in the same industry; and work on it; try to implement it to this company with the idea of much profit it will increase; as when they see higher figures; they will go for it:) good luck
