    So much really depends-- on how you approach homeschooling; on age of kids, etc. Some people use a curriculum, some don't. Some pick up notebooks, some loose leaf papers and some use the computer for writing. You might want to get some educational supplies, like a globe or a map, folders & binders, etc... or not; maybe you prefer to go to the library or work on a computer program. Younger kids generally need art supplies for cutting, coloring, pasting; you might want to get language tapes, or a guitar for music lessons, etc. It's up to how you want to approach it, to assess your own needs.

To begin with you need to decide what you're going to study and whether you want to work towards a particular standard/exam. Then I suggest you go to a bookshop and find study guides and text books that you like and want to work through. It's not obligatory though because you can find loads of resources online too. It depends on what you're doing. Are you going to be doing an online program like K12 or something like A Beka? If so, they'll most likely give you what you need or tell you what you need. You will for sure need notebooks, pencils and pens though. If you're not doing an online program, you'll need books to help aid you along. Such as Saxon math books that you could work problems in or English text books. These are not needed, however, as there are plenty of good online sources and you could always check out books in your library. You'll also need pens, pencils and notebooks for this type of schooling. This type of schooling gives a lot more leeway and you have more choice of what you want to study. Totally into animals and science? I suggest that instead of a science book, visit your local zoo and find resources online and in real life rather than from a book. You can do that with any interest (as long as it's not games or something like that haha). Just remember that you will need the basics though: Pencils, pens and notebooks. Good luck and have fun!
