I would say that you should get at least a 300 RMS watt amp. you usually dont measure what you need by the max watt age.

First thing to know is, is the wattage rating in 'continous or peak' or RMS. RMS is the true measurment of wattage so 600w RMS is really 600watts! However Continous or peak wattage is only 1/2 of RMS, So 600watt C or P is only really about 300 Same with speakers, Car audio and home stereo is famous for this deception, you want RMS ratings.
