How do i compose a mail with some pictures in it but not as attachments?

you can't, you'll need to setup your account with an E-mail client such as Outlook, Outlook Express

if i want to add pictures to the actual email along with text i just copy and past them into the same area. Ctrl v key is same as paste option.

try using the img tags. Example: <img src=" link "></ img> Remove the spaces where you would put the link and before the / on the closing tag..
