sorry to tell you this that would be nice if they let you hear the voice of that person because they do already have his voice recording on record all calls to business these days are recorded for the primary reason that of your situations. however the raw truth about it they WILL NOT share that with you in the least sense. might even lie tell ya they don't have it. But they do that's a guarantee. when you call them you ll hear this call might be monitored or recorded for quality assurance. but its really for auditing reasons. for law enforcement only. this is another thing they wont tell you because it defeats the purpose of the recording. Now the only way this recording can be heard is by law enforcement only and the personal of the business. they wont release it to you for 2 reasons. what can you over all do about this you might ask. well pro bally nothing because law enforcement don't care about things like this they rather be fishing for bigger fish if you get my drift. the only way officers will take action is if it was done to them or one of there friends. you ll later find this out tobe true. I know it is not supposed to be like this but that's the way the law works. this is were you need a lawyer to get involved to make them do there jobs. and only then maybe youll be lucky or maybe not because when the system dont care the officers dont care. this is were you got hire a private investigator and by that time youll have thousands invested. so you got to ask yourself is it worth looking into. I say this as a cheap way to go try to chissle as much info you can about this account like if he used the same name as yours and SSN maybe you can have the password changed say you forgot it or something go online and do this or tryb on the phone. one slight problem is you might need to know the email he used. in order to change the password any event if you can get the password reset then take over the account and then ultimatly close it. but it might be batter to change some key info first for few month so if he trys to use it then he cant get in it and if he try to over ride it with info then he will need to know certain info that you changed first if he dont then this will be defult alert securty team and go from there. thats the best advice i can give.

Excuse my ignorance, but why the hell would someone open up a National Grid account with your identity. It makes NO sense at all. Do you even know why they do identity theft? lol. I presume the person who you suspect of doing this has a home...otherwise where does the electricity go to? You don;t need a silly voice recording...they can trace the person to the address they are supplying the electricity to!!! And if that person has been with them a year...and has presumably paid, because the person has not been cut of...WHY STEAL YOUR IDENTITY??? BAHAHAHA Does not make sense. Criminals steal identities to use with credit card applications so they get the credit card and use up all the credit and don't pay. When it comes to paying they come and hunt you and demand money off you...THAT is why they steal your identity. I think you are either mistaken or doing it for some other reason. ;)

if the account is in you name ask for the address on the account have it turned off and tell them you never opened it in the first place thin give the address to the cops i dont know what thay can do but at lest the account will be closed

I think you also need a police report too. If you have renter's insurance or home owner's insurance, you probably have an identity theft policy too.
