I'm here to help you kind sir with your problem. My answer is YES, bats are very good pets and they are especially good with children. My only concern is that bats feel lonely quick so my suggestion is to maybe buy a glove and a ball that go with the bat. One more tip though, if you have kids I would advice to buy a wooden bat because they don't break as fast (you never know what kids do when you're not around) If you trust your kids or don't have any you could buy a metal bat. metal bats don't break as fast but are a little but more expensive though... bats have fangs and dont they need 2x their body weight worth of blood a day in order to survive? i guess if you give it a rat a day that would work. and the kids might be traumatised after watching that!!!!

i dont know where you live but bats in the uk are endangered so are therefore protected so no you wouldnt be allowed but i dont know about the rest of the world. i'd stick to a pet cricket bat or baseball bat :o)
