    If you just have an anthropology degree, no. You'd need the med tech schooling. Shadowing someone might show you what they DO in a day, but doesn't show you what you have to know.

For a medical technologist (clinical lab scientist) you must either graduate from a dedicated med tech/CLS BS program or do an additional 1 year training after the bachelors degree. The requirements include many science courses. So you could get a BS in anthro but you still need to do the science required or be in the program-there is no getting around that. So its not the employer you are worried about, it is getting into the training program and passing the ASCP/NCA exam once done. Find a program that you are interested in & speak to the adviser.

You cant work as a medical tech unless you get a degree, AS or BS, in biology or specifically medical technology. They will NOT consider you for a lab position if you do not have an educational background in science such as biology, microbiology, chemistry, etc. You need to go back to school. I suggest a community college AS in biology. Speak to a college advisor first though.
