Blu Ray Movie Problem?

Just remember this now, a lot of the newest blu-ray movies are going to require firmware updates. Yes a drag, but that's why I say get a blu player with ethernet port, keep plugged into internet 100% of time and you should not ever have an issue with any movies, and make sure disks have no scratches or fingerprints, blu players hate those.

Not sure if you remember the first DVD players that came out? If you do then you'll remember that they weren't brilliant, some disks wouldn't play properly and there was a large pause in the middle of movies when it swapped from one layer of the disk to the other (or when you had to get up to manually flip the disk from one side to the other!). Well, Blu-ray is unfortunately in that state of flux too: mainly because Sony have repeatedly changed the standard for what Blu-ray discs (and the players of course) can and should do (changes include modifying the way it downloads things amongst many others). Early Blu-ray players (including many that are sold in supermarkets and discount Hi-Fi shops) have problems playing all disks. However in some cases this is fixable. A lot of the Blu-ray players on the market have "firmware" - this is a technical name for a chip within your Blu-ray player that can be re-programmed if it needs to (kind of like the one that runs the engine in your car - occasionally when you take it for a service the garage will upgrade it) and this can add features and fix bugs. I'd start off with speaking to the manufacturer (go to their local website and find the local support office), explain the problem and give them your player's details. With luck they'll have a firmware fix and a way to upgrade your player. Good luck.

Sounds like you need to update your firmware. Visit the support section of the manufacturer's website to download the update.

It's your Blu-ray player causing the problem. You either have your settings screwed up, or your player is faulty. Contact your manufacturer's customer support.
