Is it tough for a new LVN grad to find a job? Are hospitals phasing them out?
-
I'm a little worried that if I go through with an LPN program I will only be able to work in a nursing home. Any advice is appreciated.

Answer:
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, nursing job growth is expected to increase at least through 2018 - that includes all levels of nurses. While the jobs available may vary in your location, there is no reason to believe that any LPN/LVN positions will be "phased out" in the future. An LPN program should qualify you for a wide range of nursing jobs, and its always a great foundation for continuing your nursing career in the future.
