    As a PTA you would probably make about $30,000-40,000 a year. Yes, it is a demanding field but more for physical therapists then for PTAs. If you are willing to put in the time and school - it is better to complete your degree in physical therapist. You will be able to find a job - I would suppose you could find a job where you work 4 12 hour days but that is all going to be based on your location of employment. As a PTA you will assist a physical therapist who will be required during hours that are suitable for patients. For example, early morning and late evenings are always popular because patients have to work throughout the day and will attend physical therapy outside of work hours -sometimes even weekends are necessary as patients are off and have time to attend therapy. You will have less call on your hours if you are a PTA because your hours will be based on the physical therapist you are assisting which you won't have control over.
