What is the average salary of an RN with A.A.S degree?

What is the difference in salary between a RN with an associates degree and a RN with a bachelor's degree?

  • Answer:

In terms of being a regular staff nurse, little to none. My hospital pays BSN's $1 more than ADNs. The BSN earns you more money in the long run if you move beyond regular patient care into leadership / supervisory / management / administrative kinds of positions which almost always will require the higher degree.

Other answers

In terms of pay, zero to minimal. In terms of duties for a staff RN, again not much. The difference in job duties is more pronounced in higher administrative duties that require a bachelors/which is not for everyone. Both learn the same care skills as both have to pass the NCLEX; the BS portion includes more administration, management, and those type of skills classes.
