Are boating licenses valid in all states?
-
I live in Illinois, but I will be boating in Wisconsin. If I get an Illinois boating license, will it be valid in Wisconsin?
-
Answer:
Yes, you will be fine... as long as your license was obtained in your State of residency... However, if your planing on boating in Canadian waters effective now all "visitors" to Canada will need proof of boat safety and competency. Canada has already posted two Internet Boat Safety Sites that provide online study, with online tests, you can take to meet this requirements. So... this really affects all Great Lakes boaters and Great Loop boaters visiting Canadian Waters. Happy and Safe Boating, Capt. John
