before tearing the engine down and spending any serious money i would try this first. drain the fuel tank, the carb, the oil, spark plug;i would also drain the oil out of the rear axl.while your letting all of the fluids drain i would take a fan and have it aimed at the wiring on the atv, that way it will dry it out and prevent anything from short circuiting.before refilling all the fluids i would crank the engine over (with out the plug in it) that way it will pump any water that's in the cylinder out.after everything is drained refill it to the appropriate level, put the spark plug back in.now it's time to start it up,i would recommend having a can of ether just in case it's stubborn to start, make sure you don't spray too much in at a time just a few quick sprays is enough. good luck

Pull out the spark plugs, drain as much water as you can that way. I myself would remove the entire head (You'll need a new gasket afterwards) and dry it up completely. Remove the exhaust header and silencer, get any water out from there. Drain the carburetor and dry it out with a compressor. Drain the oil and gasoline. New oil, oil filter, gasoline, air filter, plug, and make sure every passage where water shouldn't be is cleared of water and dried. If the engine DID run for awhile there is a chance that it is now hydrolocked (In which case the piston will be siezed.) In which case you'll need to assess the damage to the jug and bottom-end. Meaning the jug could need a possible re-sleeve, a definite need of a new piston, and a good chance the bottom end is wrecked as well. Good luck.

you prob flooded the engine, which would mean you need a new engine, I would let out all fluids out of the system and see if it's locked up. theres a good chance your going to need to replace the engine
