  • so, what degree will i ultimately need to become a medical researcher? after how many years can i finally get a job? is AP chemistry a good course to take in high school if i want ...show more

  • Answer:

I don't think there is one clear "medical research" major. Likely, you would want to major in something like Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Biomedical Sciences. Also, some schools offer a major called Clinical Laboratory Technology, or Medical Technology, which would likely be very helpful to becoming a medical researcher. Basically any course of study in which you take advanced biology and chemistry classes is good. I'd advise focusing on chemistry or biochemistry, since not many people major in chemistry(more major in biological sciences). So yes, you should take AP Chem, and possibly AP Bio or AP Calculus. You'll more than likely need to get a Masters, and maybe a Phd before you can get a job. Good luck!
