What keywords should I choose for my blog?

How do you choose  keywords for a blog post?

  • Answer:

One method that I use is to pull competitors' page titles from there blogs and then to research that terms to ensure that there is some volume but that there isn't much other competition. Then, I make something much better than that post. With that said, I'm really interested in this question too. What search volumes are others looking at for blog posts, competitive metrics, etc.?

For my team, its the other way around. We find topics on what to write on first. Then which keywords we want to optimize the blog post for. With that, we use a tool call Ultimate Niche Finder to assess the difficulty of the keyword & measure the search volume for the keywords. It also helps us to find relevant keywords to target to expand on the traffic reach of the blog post.

I'm sure you would have a main keyword picked out. That's the easy part. As for additional keywords you might want to include, I try to include the SLI keywords in my posts. Search your main keyword in Google, then scroll down to the bottom and pick a number of those keywords to include.

1) Choose focus keywords used in actual searches Keywords will give you lots of ideas on what to write about. Content strategies nowadays are geared towards using long-tail keywords since they are more targeted. Your first stop should be Google Suggest. You might have already used it before but didn’t realize so. Search appearing below your searched terms are words that actual users typed in the search bar. It’s okay if you don’t want to use them as your focus keywords. However, these suggestions will give you an overall picture of the search behaviors of the users you are aiming to target. The changing search behaviors, however, is one reason why suggestions often change. Aside from Google Suggest, you can also use Google AdWords Keyword Planner, Yoast Suggests or other keyword research tool such as keywordtool.io. Just type in terms that you would like to optimize your contents for in the field provided. Hit enter. The tool will yield hundreds of keyword suggestions organized from A to Z and 1 to 10. 2) Learn about search volumes After finding your long-tail keywords, you are now ready to determine their search volumes. This is the tricky part since you can only perform this if you have an active Google AdWords account and bid for a particular keyword; trickier if you don’t have one. To choose keyword for blog post , you need to measure keyword density i.e how many time you are using your keywords, dont do stuffing in content through keyword. Also check Google adwords to see which keyword can rank well for your content. If you search good keyword and placed well in content , then you can good traffic for sure. So what is necessary is to choose good keywords with unique content.
