How much does a RN or LVN make?

Lvn to rn? or associates degree then rn?

  • what is better to go to study lvn then go be an rn? or get associates degree for nursing then go to rn? i live in california..which would make me finish faster? going from lvn to rn? ...show more

  • Answer:

The entirely depends on the programs/schools you go to that offer those programs. For instance, there are far less LVN/LPN-to-RN programs than there are ADN-to-BSN programs. So you'd have better luck going for your ADN then doing a 1 year ADN-to-BSN program. It might technically take longer, but there are people I know who were LVNs and they didn't get into an LVN-to-RN program and still had to go to a regular nursing program. Also, do you know that an ADN and BSN is essentially the same? The pay is the same and the job is the same, the only thing is an ADN can not be a Nurse Manager (in charge of a floor). But if you're just looking for the quickest route with the same end results, an ADN is not bad! You can do just that and make the same as if you got your BSN. You can later decide if you want to continue your education or not afterwards.
