Can LVNs work in Labor & Delivery?

I would like to work in the hospital in the labor and delivery what would i need to be? a LVN or a RN?

    Hospitals in many areas are steering away from hiring LVNs, and if they do they are mostly on floors where the client is most stable, and the least acute. I would recommend becoming a RN because of the limited scope of practice for the LVN.
