Answer:
You cannot extend the days. Often bids come in the last few minutes/seconds of an auction ending- so always be hopeful. However if you start an item a 99p and only get 1 bid, you should honour the sale. Always start your auctions at the minimum price you would be willing to accept- avoids dissapointments
