How to detect invisible users in Gmail?

Why doesn't Google detect and block/redirect users that are using Ad Block from search, Gmail, YouTube etc?

  • A growing number of advertiser-sponsored websites use techniques to redirect/block users... why not Google?

  • Answer:

Google doesn't force the users because -I think- forcing someone to deactivate the adblock is unethical. If I wanted to see the ads, I would. Telling someone what to do is disgusting, especially on the internet. People don't like this attitude. (I am not a psychologist. It is my own opinion, though.) Google is already a monopoly with its products such as google, youtube, chrome, etc.

While it might slightly increase revenue, it will also piss off most of the adblock-using people. It's not smart to piss off a segment of users who are probably open to alternatives (blekko, Duck Duck Go, Ixquick, etc.)

They solve the problem with paying money to those famous ad blockers and they block others as their ads survive. If you experience with some known ad block extensions you see that they do not block google ads
