  There is the standing cliche of if it costs more, it works better. But an extra 20$ may not be worth the less power. I can tell you that Airsoft is extremely costly in the beginning. You cant really just decide whether you want to snipe or use assault, it is a matter of testing the different styles and seeing which suits you best. Personally I enjoy sniping because it is a huge force multiplier in airsoft. Here are the general details: Sniper: Pros_ Not too costly and can still get high quality weapon Extreme range and accuracy High internal customizability (upgrade spring, bolt, gearbox, etc.) Cons_ You must have lots of patience. It's kind of like going hunting. No rapid fire weapons. If you are discovered, you MUST move. Making a last stand is the last thing a sniper should do. Guns can break easily if not handled properly. Assault: Pros_ Easy to use Get more of the "action" Many different roles to play. (suppressive fire, burst firing, etc.) Huge selection of guns to choose from, high external customizability (scopes, sights, grips, grenade launchers, etc.) Cons_ Can become very costly Takes awhile to find a gun that suits you Jam more easily with the fast firing rate.
