How can I change my HP inkjjet to print in just black and white, so I can preserve my color ink?

you can print white and black only from printer setting before you print your document at print window you can find black ink only

Most applications, like word, excel and IE have a print setup where you can change the default or you can change just for the current print. Look for a radio button or quality menu and select 'Black and White'.

Before you hit the print button in the print folder, check out the preferences and change the settings in there to make it black and white... requires a little reading until you find it.

There is a setting in the printer properties to print in black and white... But you dont really need to do that. When you print something, if it is in black and white, color will NOT be used. Also, cost wise, per percentage of ink used, color and black/white is about the same. So you are not getting any savings by printing a picture in black and white... on lasers there is a difference, but not ink jets. ALL printing on ink jets is quite expensive.

usually if you are printing in word or programs like that when you click print there is an option of whether you want to use black and white or colour, i think that would be the easiest way
