How much would a whole new clutch and fitting cost on ford focus?

Ford focus 1.8 zetec clutch slipping - how much does it cost roughly?

• i posted a question about why my ford focus 1.8 not accelerating properly, and some people said that its probably my clutch slipping, so was wondering how much it should cost?

  having a clutch changed when it may be another issue is expensive. do check it IS slipping first. have another person sit in car with you as a passenger. put it on a slope or incline so it has to work hard on clutch and has a heavy load on engine. drive at and up it with not too much power at first . listen for engine tone to change as car ( keep at same speed around 20-30mph) in 4 th gear moves up slope, engine noise will change to show it is working harder but the note or noise you are Listening FOR is when you note the engine speed goes up and the car speed stays the same or even reduces . try it again and at point when you think it iS slipping? put foot on floor. engine rev's should !! go up, with no increase in speed. if so? then a new clutch is needed. if engine rev's will NOT increase ? then clutch is OK and you need look elsewhere for lack of acceleration.
