How to read defense playbook in Madden?

• I'm pretty new to Madden and I don't know what does the defense plays are? So can someone teach me how to read the defensive playbook?

  There are 2 main types of defense: 3-4 and 4-3. 3-4 is 3 linemen and 4 linebackers and 4-3 is vice versa. So you will have the 4 main 3-4/4-3 formations which hardly matter when picking plays, they just make the players be in slightly different spots. Nickel is two linebackers and more corners Dime is one linebacker. Quarter is none. Goalline is either 5-4 or 6-3. 5/6 linemen with 4/3 linebackers and 2 corners I suggest 4-3 for if you think they'll run. The higher you think theyll pass the less lb you will need.
