Facebook share intent android?

What would be interesting content for a company that specializes in Augmented Reality to share on their social channels?

  • As the founder of my company I have been on teams that completed 3 apps that use augmented reality. I love the technology and would like to share that with others because of its potential to add value. Interested in hearing from anyone. Perhaps you are interested in AR? perhaps you are in the industry? perhaps you just have general tips for online community management? I am teachable, so throw it at me :) Currently, I am building our social channels and managing them when I can. So basically I want to share stuff that is both cool to me and to others in my industry. Where we can brainstorm over, comment on, etc. But I also would like to help bring awareness of the technology and the applications of AR technology. AR is being used in areas such as education and will revolutionize how people learn. So basically my goal is to educate and also to spark more curiosity about live. For example, on my pinterest page, right now all I have is a board for deep sea creatures (sorry not puppies, muffins, and wedding pics, lol) the intent is to spark wonder. Can you imagine using AR to teach children about deep sea creatures? that would be totally fun! I do not want to hire a "social media guru" because I want to keep my content organic. I am not trying to get likes and retweets, i just want to help spread the knowledge, make some friends in my industry, and learn together with others. What would be some good ways to encourage our community to share their content with us? I am looking for sincere organic ways to discuss things that I am already talking about, things that others could be interested in that I have access to, make friends, etc. Not looking to make any hard sells, i do not care about "likes", number of followers, or anything shady. My current (errrrm..) "strategy" is as follows. FACEBOOK Share pics of events on our business page. Post relevant articles. Invite others to industry events. Discuss technology. QUORA Answer relevant topics(UI,UX, AR, etc), meet potential partners to work on project together, make friends. TWITTER Post links that I found useful. Links to upcoming events. Promote relevant topics that I found on Quora. PINTEREST Post pics of gadgets, post pics of things that spark wonder (deep sea, mountains, space, etc). VIMEO Show more indepth video, perhaps "making of" type higher quality type. YOUTUBE Discuss various topics. Share videos of events, tutorials, interviews, demonstrations, etc. ITUNES Discuss topics at length on podcasts. Interview people I find intersting.

It sounds like you have plenty of content and clearly a lot of enthusiasm. So that's good. I would suggest a little more focus though. If you're doing different things on a half dozen platforms, you're spreading yourself pretty thin, and the quality of your content might suffer. Also, think about your primary objective. Is it to make friends and establish a network of people like you, introduce AR to folks who know little about it, or what? Those things are quite different, requiring their own distinct tactics. Pick one of them. Then find out where your target audience is in social media. If you're after like-minded friends, starting a blog from which you can share content into twitter, quora, etc might be the way to go. Or you might want to use google+ as a blog platform of sorts, with the added benefit of interest-based circles you can tap into. Bottom line is, set aside platform tactics for now and focus on narrowing down your objectives and target audience. Hope this helps.

Interviews and monthly newsletters are two ways to showcase your involvement in the community. You might consider interviewing a prominent professor or academic in the field of AR or machine vision. Can you imagine the popularity you might get by interviewing someone from the MIT Media Lab? Anyone that follows wearable computing would watch it. Professors are often eager for free publicity and rarely charge for the interview. Other ideas- -Get a student ambassador on a college campus to promote your product or be an AR evangelist (finds campuses that have AR research projects) _ Apply to speak at a regional TED talk to showcase your new app/technology -For reaching a larger audience, consider going to a Panera or other casual restaurant and ask people how they might use the technology. Then ask them to sign up for your monthly newsletter. Nothing beats putting physical boots on the ground to connect you to your users

The first step would be to choose which social platform is most relevant to this topic-that's where you're going to get the most interaction in the first place. Platforms Google Plus For something like this Google+ is a must. I've come to view G+ as a very tech-oriented community. From all aspects of development, internet marketing, graphics, etc. You can easily jump right in by finding large circles* to interact with and see some great content. Google+ is where I curate the best content on a regular basis. *https://plus.google.com/106393478695568433143/posts/3CGaFRVrGK8 Quora As as you obviously know already, Quora is a great place to follow industry leaders and for you to get some awesome information from the members. You're already here, now it's just a matter of leverage. Keep up with these thought leaders by listening, answering, and asking. So many people underestimate that last one. Asking great questions can make you stand out just as much as having great answers. http://contentkeen.com/top-10-ways-businesses-can-leverage-quora/  (disclaimer: A little bit of self "promotion") Twitter You're off to a good start by posting relevant links, but take it a step further and engage people (whether they're following you or not) with those links. By identifying people in reference to a link or comment, you raise chances of them engaging you as well, and in turn, building a relationship. http://www.searchenginepeople.com/blog/filter-twitter-lists.html http://www.seomoz.org/blog/ten-painless-tactics-to-earn-attention-on-twitter Not sure how much leverage you're going to get from Pinterest, it's most engaging audience is women pinning recipes, weddings, and what their idea of a dream guy looks like. The only way I can see Pinterest working well is by targeting teachers/professors hopefully finding common ground with industry "crossover" images (used as a teaching aid for disabled, etc). I think you could get much better results if most of that energy was dedicated to maximizing your presence on other networks. Comment Marketing A highly under utilized strategy for connecting with like minded individuals and learning from each other. I would start with getting some awesome RSS feeds from leading sites in your industry and keeping up to date with the content that's published there. Then just put yourself out there to be seen by adding to the conversation. This strategy kills two of your birds with one stone: helping others to learn, and make some friends in your industry. All that said, you know your business better than I do, so you might know something that I don't about how best to build relationships and share knowledge within your industry. Hope that helps :)

It's not really clear if you have a B2C app, some AR platform / toolkit or just looking to do something fun in the space. Obviously it would be difficult to have users post content until you reach certain critical mass but what you could do is populate your AR world with existing content such as local places of interest or some education content as you have mentioned. Check out the existent 'Worlds' in Wikitude Architect, also think about open APIs you could import information from such as Google Local, Yelp etc, there is a huge collection of APIs here: http://www.programmableweb.com/apis and plenty of them are content APIs.

Do you have any demographic info on your target market? AR has been an early adopter tech that is not widely used or understood by the masses. Other than cool factor, what makes AR better than traditional maps? I don't want to be a jerk sceptic, but after 5yrs AR still has limited use. Google glasses as a HUD has the best chance to convert masses, but that will take more time.
