To expand on Samantha's great (and very correct) answer, contact solution is an essential non-prescription product, so it's not limited, and doesn't have to be in the zippy. But, you'll have to declare it at the checkpoint.

Try the travel size section at CVS, Long's or Eckerd.

I got one at CVS and Opti-Free sells the starter kits at Target and Wal-Mart. But try your eye doctor. They always have the starter kits. Good luck and have fun!

Put together a collection -- toothpaste, shaving cream, deodorant, shampoo -- and throw in a box of one-quart zip-top plastic bags so the traveler on your gift list can make it through the carry-on line at the airport. Pick the items up at a drugstore or check out http://www.minimus.biz. They offer pre-made kits and care packages along with gift certificates. It may not be time effcient, but here's one option. Ask your optometrist office if they have samples. I'm not sure if they get that small, but some contact solutions come in smaller size bottles. I carry a bottle in my purse of rewetting drops that should work for you in a pinch and its a 1oz. bottle.
