If you want to buy a guitar, the best places are online at musician's friend or guitar trader. Differences are small, but i myself bought a guitar at musicians friend and was very pleased both with the low price and the service. If you want to read a review of them, go here: http://www.reviewsnest.com/MusicGear/BuyGuitars.htm . Learning guitar can be either easy and fun - or a chore. learning a few chords and using free stuff from the net takes time and effort. You should get guitar lessons - either hire a teacher, or get an "online" guitar lessons course. I used a learn-at-home course and it was both very effective and very inexpensive compared to hiring a guitar teacher. Also, it enabled me to progress at my own pace, practice whenever I had free time. Best advice i can give you is to go to ReviewsNest.com - the reviews site where i read about the course i bought: http://www.reviewsnest.com/GuitarLessons . They give free reviews for several guitar courses, tell U what to look for in a course, what are the best courses around, and what u get in each course they checked. I bought the LMG course (their top pick) so i can only vouch for it - I don't know about the other courses. However - the course i bought is excellent, and their review of it was spot-on, and it looks like the other reviews they put for the other courses are good too. top rated courses are priced from $20 to $200 - so i guess you can find one that suits your pocket. Good luck, whatever you choose. Once you start playing well - you'll never stop!

Rock on, sister! You can get an inexpensive starter guitar (under $150) at Target or even at Guitar Center. You might find one cheaper on Craig's List or at a garage sale, too. But make sure it's tuned or it will sound terrible. Electronic tuners are cheap too, around 7 bucks. Check out the link below for a whole article specifically about girls who want to learn guitar....

Be very careful when you buy your first guitar. Price is not the only thing you should be worrying about. If you get a really cheap guitar with terrible action (how far the strings are off the neck), faulty intonation (staying in tune as you chord down the neck), bad tone (the sound it makes) or poor construction (bracing becomes loose, tailpiece or bridge pulls up. neck bows) you will not be able to play it. You should take along a friend who knows something about guitars if you can. And although every once in a while you can find a good guitar at a pawnshop (or a store like Walmart), most of the ones I have seen in pawnshops lately have been either very poor quality or very overpriced. Try checking at your local music store if you have one. Nowadays you can often get beginner packs by Fender/Squier (and some other companies, iif you want an electric guitar) which include a guitar, an amp, and a gig bag (soft cloth case) for way less than $200. You can also often by used guitars that people have traded in. Also, watch your local newspaper in the classified ads. You should not have to spend more than $150 for a decent (not fancy ), playable acoustic guitar.

well their all wooden... If you mean accustic then u could get one anywhere for example k-mart,wal-mart,etc for a cheap one... that is But if you mean a electric guitar then you should look for starter packs that usually come with a squir guitar,15w amp, strap, cord, head phones,cd, picks. Those types can be found practically anywhere these's days. Those are the most common and cheapest starter guitars and value packs that i personally can think off hand. price of electric start pack is around $99-$199.00 depending brand.. price of accustic guitar is around $100-$120 depending brand...
