  • Answer:

Arrythmogenic Right Ventricular Dysplasia is a serious disease. Unfortunately there is no cure for it, but it can be managed with drug and non-invasive surgery. The muscle of the right ventricle, (the right side chamber of the heart) is replaced by fat or fibrous tissue. This replacement cannot act like muscle any more and the contraction and conduction of the heart suffers. Having had ARVD, fatal ARVD, in the family, should have caused concern very early in his life and his doctor(s) should have been more vigilant. Medicine today is very advanced and we have many tools at our disposal. Hopefully he is being cared for by a good doctor and all avenues are being looked at and tried in his case.
