Higher studies after engineering?

Is it enough to complete Computer Science Engineering and get into a job right away or is it needed to do higher studies?

  • I am Comp. Sci engineering student in TamilNadu. My idea is to get into a job right after graduation. But my friends suggest doing higher studies like MS/MBA. I dont have any plans for future. I confused at what to be done. Is it really important to do higher studies or is it better to get into a job.

  • Answer:

If you have some skills then go and test them out and improve them at a job, otherwise go for an MBA :)

Go for higher education. What you learn in undergrad is what a professor teaches. What you learn in grad school is what you teach yourself. Get it? You learn how to do research, how to define your own problems and then solve them etc. Your professor simply teaches you to how to learn. If you are simply an undergrad, you depend on a senior engineer/scientist to give you a problem to solve. If you are a grad, you define the problem you want undergrads to solve. So, the final answer depends on how far you want to go in your career.
