When a network recycles my old phone number and gives it to someone else, after I ditch it, will my Whatsapp history of messages(assuming I did NOT delete them) be available to the new user as well?

Your Whatsapp messages are stored on your phone as a backup, not on Whatsapp servers. You can clearly see this when you install Whatsapp on your phone after a fresh ROM install and SD card format (am talking from an Android perspective here, might not be applicable on other platforms) , you don't have any of your old messages. Whatsapp itself clarifies this here http://www.whatsapp.com/faq/en/general/21864047 Of course you will ask what happens if the message is NOT delivered. In that case, Whatsapp stores it for 30 days from date of sending and is deleted thereafter.

If I continue to use a phone number on Whatapps that is being recylced (I no longer subscribe to cell service) once the new number is taken by a NEW customer will they be able to register with WhatsApp with a number I'm using? Will this effect my Whatsapp msgs? Thanks
