no it will be made as long as vhs was, and it vhs was stopped manufactured by its main sponser in october 2008 when the first shipment of bluray recorders left the factory for shop distribution, because it was the same machine, just revamped this time by using the betamax and compact cassette manufacturers, and using the minus-R dvd format manufacturers as well, bluray is the definitive artical of DVD and will be manufactured for years to come
