My new sky viewing card wont work.

Do i need a viewing card for sky plus to work?

  • I have just moved into a house that has two sky cables I assume for sky plus? Can I buy a box of ebay and get sky plus or do I need a viewing card?

    You can get a freesat box that will record. It will work from the same dish. You have to pay for the box, but it's free to use and record.

yes you do need a card off sky , its simple to connect the box yourself, just connect it yourself , make sure you have got two locked signal inputs and then ring sky for your card saving you the engineer/ install fee

You wouldn't be able to simply buy a box and hook it up unfortuantely. You would have to contact Sky and get an engineer to fit the box and then activate it. (They connect the box the telephone line for this). Basically, you wouldn't be able to use Sky+ without paying the monthly fee or having an engineer come out to install it. Hope this helps.

dont think so you have to pay to use sky plus,I bought my own sky plus box from sky but once I was no longer a customer my sky plus in now useless!! go figure[wot a con]
