Other answers

I think if you connect the cable from the wall to the VCR first, than another piece of coax to cable-in on the Comcast box, then another piece to the TV( cable in from antenna/CATV - short for Cable TV). If that won't work, i was just thinking, connect the coax coming from the VCR to the single end of a splitter, then, using two more short pieces of coax, using 1 of the free ends of the splitter, run 1piece of coax to the Comcast Box & the other piece to the TV. The one from the wall still goes on cable-in on the VCR.

The Count

you should be able to run your cable through your vcr then your black box ( mine is called illico, digital tv) then your vcr should be able to record from regular cable tv. you need to keep your vcr on and on 3 i believe in order to use your digital box
