Why is my amp really hot and sub stopped working?

  if everything still plays when it cools down, you're still in good shape. the problems is that you have that 1 sub bridged and the amp is using a lot of power. all amps get hot and shut off. when you enjoy blasting your subs, you gotta wire it correctly. your sub is using a 4 ohm load on the amp. which is okay, but after a while, it will overheat. i wire all my subs at 8 ohms, so it only uses half the amps power. its less power, but my amps are twice the size. i can blast my subs for hours before it gets too hot. you cannot wire 1 sub at 8 ohms unless you have dual voice coils on it. you need two subs and wire it in series wiring to get a single voice coil sub to use an 8 ohm load. 2 subs at 8 ohms on that amp will not give you that much power. basically, you need a dual voice coil sub, or 2 subs and a bigger amp for maximum durability by wiring it at 8 ohms. you should google series and parallel wiring for better results.
