  I'm not sure I know exactly what you mean when you say, "...and I didn't put the ground wire up." The Sony will NOT work unless it is grounded. Also, I'm assuming that you have both the Sony wiring harness and a vehicle specific wiring harness that plugs into your Intrepid's stock radio wiring, and that these are the colors that you matched up. Sony, Aftermarket Harness, Function, Vehicle Yellow, Yellow, 12V Constant, Black/Yellow Red, Red, 12V+ Switched, Red/White Orange, Orange, Illumination, Orange Blue, Blue, Power Antenna, Orange/Red Black, Black, Ground, Chassis White, White, LF Spkr +, Dark Green White/Black, White/Black, LF Spkr -, Brown/Red Gray, Gray, RF Spkr +, Violet Gray/Black, Gray/Black, RF Spkr -, Dark Blue/Red Green, Green, LR Spkr +, Brown/Yellow Green/Black, Green/Black, LR Spkr -, Brown/Light Blue Purple, Purple, RR Spkr +, Dark Blue/White Purple/Black, Purple/Black, RR Spkr -, Dark Blue/Orange If the Sony has a wire labelled "dimmer", it should connect to the pink wire from the Intrepid's wiring harness. Some aftermarket harnesses may include other wires such as "audio interrupt" (may be pink/black) and "remote turn-on" (probably blue/white) (may be terminated with a bullet connector). These, and any others such as "bluetooth", "chimes", or "parking brake" should have the ends insulated well and completely secured from touching grounds or other wires. They don't need to connect to anything, but if they do they may cause problems. For example, if the "bluetooth" wire comes into contact with a ground, the radio shuts off allowing you to take the incoming call.
